Tender process for setting up six desalination plants in Gujarat to be initiated in December 2018: Rupani

Mumbai: Gujarat Chief Minister today said the State government will start tender process for setting up desalination plants at six places in the State in upcoming month of December.

He said these six desalination plants will come up at Dahej, Kutch, Dwarka, Somnath, Bhavnagar and Pipavav.

Each of six planned desalination plants will have 100 mld capacity.

They shall be set up under public private partnership(PPP) model.

It’s worth noting that tender process for first such desalination plant at Jodiya has been completed and MoU has been signed with Essel industry. Jodiya project is expected to be functional within 30 months.

Ahmedabad, Monday: Some of the well-known industry captains and business tycoons such as Adi Godrej, Anand Mahindra, Rahul Bajaj – Trafigura India Pvt. Ltd., Rakesh Tripathi, Ajay Kapoor – Ambuja Cement and others today during one-to-one meeting held in Mumbai with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani, as a part of ‘Vibrant Summit – 2019’, shown a keen interest in expanding their projects in the state.

The second phase of the one-to-one meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh and other senior officials of Gujarat Government.

Later, Rupani paid his tributes to 166 innocent citizens who lost their lives in a terror attack at Hotel Trident in Mumbai during November – 2008, where this Road Show of ‘Vibrant Summit – 2019’ was being held.
