Alpesh Thakor flies to Delhi to meet Congress high-command, says attempts within party are made to weaken him
January 07, 2019
Ahmedabad: Congress MLA and Thakor Sena president Alpesh Thakor today once again openly expressed his ‘annoyance’ over alleged attempt to weaken his position within the party.
Thakor who had also participated in a meeting with various Congress leaders of his community including Baldevji Thakor, Jagdish Thakor at circuit house here, flew to Delhi today to meet the party high command.
He said that no one should treat him like a weak person.
‘I had joined the party with a large number of supporters at a time when there were offers from various quarters but I feel pained when the hounour I deserve is not given. I am not weak. Many within the party were trying to weaken me. I will disclose all this in front of the high command,’ he said.
Thakor, who had also participated in the meeting of the senior leaders of the party recently held at the residence of former state president Arjun Modhwadia which was termed as a meeting of dissidents annoyed at the style of functioning of the current leadership in Gujarat, said that he would start Ekta Yatra of his outfit from January 20 and one should wait for his next steps.
‘It is time to act like Chanakya rather than just sitting on the fence and clapping at the acts of others,’ he said.
On being asked whether he can switch over to some other party, he only said that wait and watch.
Alpesh is likely to meet Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel and Gujarat in-charge of the party Rajiv Satav.
Meanwhile Alpesh aide Congress MLA Dhavalsinh Jhala said, he will go with Alpesh Thakor’s any decision.
Alpesh is also going to hold Ekta Yatra from January 20th through his outfit.
