Om Mathur takes charge as Gujarat BJP Lok Sabha elections incharge; interacts with media

Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP Lok Sabha election 2019 incharge Om Mathur today in his first press interaction ahead of Lok Sabha general elections in Gujarat clarified that he was still a guardian of Uttar Pradesh state and party leader Bhupendra Yadav was still guardian for Gujarat state. He said he has been appointed state party incharge with focus on Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Mathur was on his first visit to Gujarat after appointment as incharge of BJP for Gujarat for Lok Sabha general elections 2019, that are likely to take place in the month of May this year.

Mathur said party will win all 26 seats in Gujarat in 2019 and repeat its 2014 performance. In reply to a question pertaining to Patidar quota agitation, Mathur said even in 2004 Patidar Utkarsh Samiti was formed. Communities have right to express their feelings.

In reply to a question on Gathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh between rivals SP and BSP, Mathur said, ‘we will also enjoy the fight as opponents are in alliance.’

Mathur also pointed out, ‘Congress has been merely given two seats in U.P. by SP-BSP.’

Party will fight the Lok Sabha elections purely on the agenda of development, Mathur said.

When asked about pending appointments in boards and corporations, Mathur said, ‘Now I have come, everything will be taken care off. Results will be visible in next few says.’ Thus he clearly passed hint that such appointments are possible in near future.
