Alpesh Thakor, his two aide MLAs resign from all posts of Congress party

Gandhinagar: AICC Secretary and Gujarat Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor has resigned from all posts of Congress party. Alpesh sent his resignation letter to State Congress president Amit Chavda.

Later addressing a press conference, Alpesh said his two aide MLAs of Congress party Dhavalsinh Zala (Bayad) and Bharatsinh Thakor (Bechraji) were also leaving Congress party.

Alpesh said all three will continue as MLA and will not resign from the assembly. Alpesh said they should be considered as independent MLAs now on.

Alpesh said they were not going to join BJP. Alpesh said he along with his outfit will campaign for Thakor Sena candidates on Unjha assembly seat and Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat.

‘What I had always found wanting for was respect respect and respect, for which I am deeply saddened. The only thing I always got was betrayal betrayal and betrayal,’ Alpesh Thakor said in his resignation letter.

Alpesh during his press conference also alleged that tickets are sold in Congress party in exchange of money, and deals are made.

State Congress chief Amit Chavda reacts

Alpesh Thakor must have taken such a decision under personal, political & financial pressure. If he suddenly believes that Cong is not the right party for him to be in – We do not agree with it. He, as well as his father Khodaji, understands the ideology of Congress.

Alpeshbhai’s letter reeks of personal greed and lack of commitment. Congress paty has always been & is committed to working for the masses, marginalized and minorities. Whether first CM, first obc party president or Speaker; They all have belonged to Congress party.

We believe in giving voice and respect to OBC. Alpeshbhai knows that though he was a first time MLA, Congress gave him much more respect. Still Alpeshbhai’s letter reeks of indecent language and it is unfortunate that he stooped down this low insulting his own self and and his community.

Leaders should lead and not throw tantrums like this, only respect begets respect.
