AMC – EESL to ink MoU for setting up 100 charging points in Ahmedabad for e-vehicles

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Energy Efficiency Service Ltd (EESL) will sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the occasion of World Environment Day on Wednesday, June 5 in Ahmedabad in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to set up 100 charging points for e-vehicles in city. According to Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra, EESL will bear cost of installation of 100 charging points across the city for e-vehicles.
Chief Minister Rupani will also launch 50 e-rickshaws.
Nehra said RTO registration procedure and appointment and training of drivers for e-rickshaws are done. Training for police and AMC staffers is underway. The e-rickshaws will be used by Joint Enforcement Teams(JET). The teams will consist staffers from city police and AMC for enforcement of rules.
