Union minister Pradhan urges officials of his ministry to replicate the success of Gujarat

New Delhi: Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday held a meeting with officials of Petroleum ministry and Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) an representatives from the Oil & Gas industry to discuss ways to fast track India into a gas-based economy by utilising the learnings from Gujarat and adopting best practices to increase the share of natural gas from 6% to 15%.
Pradhan in a series of tweets said, Gujarat’s share of natural gas in the energy mix is approximately 26%, above the world average of 22%. Gujarat is also the only state where 100% districts will be covered under the CGD network. Pradhan urged officials to work towards replicating the success of Gujarat in providing clean fuel to every household across the country.
