Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ketan Inamdar has sent his resignation letter addressed to assembly speaker to state party president and chief minister. State assembly Speaker said he has not received resignation letter.

Inamdar represents Savli assembly seat of Vadodara district in Central Gujarat.

In his resignation letter, he said, ‘government ministers and higher officials don’t give attention to some major demands/representations of people of my area thanks to lack of coordination between the government and the administration. Our respect and honor as MLA and as people’s representative is not maintained. In order to maintain the respect of ministers and higher officials, our respect is neglected. So far I have been serving people maintaining discipline and following the ideals of party. In some issues, even after repeated representations made to government, the ministers and higher officials of the government neglect me and my college MLAs, which is a sad issue. I am giving my resignation.

This is not first time that Inamdar has sulked out in open. In June 2018, three BJP MLAs from Central Gujarat had sulked and held a meeting in Vadodara Circuit house. They had also addressed media. They were Yogesh Patel, Madhu Srivastav and Ketan Inamdar. Later Yogesh Patel was made minister while Madhu Srivastav was given top post in government PSU.

Inamdar had once rebelled against the party and elected as independent candidate from Savli. He later joined BJP and in another election won on BJP ticket. While he is in confidence to win again without support of any party, the State BJP organization is in attempt to placate him once again. Decision on his resignation is pending in Speaker’s office.

It is understood that Inamdar decided to resign after Govt run power company cut power connection of Savli municipality due to non payment of pending bills. Inamdar believes he was not heard and responded properly when he took up this issue before the State government.

Meanwhile Gujarat BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya on party MLA’s resignation letter told media persons that Ketan Inamdar had expressed his displeasure regarding development works in his area. The Chief Minister and State party chief will speak to him.

Pandya said this is internal issue of party. Pandya said, ‘Inamdar is good BJP cadre and our MLA. I am sure he will take back his resignation. We will work for solution of his concerns and also take necessary actions against official found responsible.’

Pandya said, ‘Inamdar’s phone was engaged, but Chief Minister and State party chief will speak to him and also meet him personally to hear his concerns and also to find solution.’

In late evening development, MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja was rushed to Savli to placate Ketan Inamdar.

Me or my office has so far not received any resignation letter of MLA Ketan Inamdar:Gujarat Assembly speaker

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly speaker Rajendra Trivedi has said that he or his office has so far not received any resignation letter of BJP MLA from Savli constituency, Ketan Inamdar.

Trivedi told news agency UNI over phone this evening that his office has so far not received any resignation letter of the MLA.

‘I or my office has so far no such intimation,’ he said.

Notably, a letter in the name of Inamdar doing the rounds in social media and addressed to the speaker said that he was resigning from the MLA post due to continuous ignore of the public related demands of him by the administration and also the ministers. He has also mentioned in the said-letter that there was lack of coordination among the government and the administration. He and other MLA’s were not being heard.

Inamdar on the other hand told media persons that he had sent a mail to Speaker, if he has not received it, he would go personally to hand over his resignation letter to Speaker.
