Swarm of bees attack school in Gujarat, 21 students hospitalized

Veraval: Altogether 21 students of a school in Una town of Gir-Somnath district were today admitted to hospital after a swarm of bees suddenly attacked and stung them.
Manager of privately run Gulishtan Secondary School in Anjar road of the taluka town, Umarbhai Kadru said that the incident took place this morning when the classes were on.
‘The bees seemingly come from a honey comb on a coconut tree in the open area behind the school. They entered the class rooms and stung 21 students including girls also. They were from standard 9, 10 and 11,’ he said.
Other students somehow managed to escape as many of them were taken out of the school premises after wrapping them in a large piece of cloth.
They have been admitted to the government run community health center,’ he informed.
