Mayor locks horn with AMC Commissioner and his deputy; expresses displeasure in public

Ahmedabad: City Mayor Bijal Patel has openly expressed her displeasure today against Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra and his deputy Arjav Shah over missing 96 cattle from Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) custody.
Patel said city municipal commissioner and his deputy refused to accept a memorandum given by opposition councilors over missing cattle captured by AMC even after her instruction.
She said while Commissioner was busy in a meeting, the opposition members suggested that Deputy Commissioner should accept memorandum, however Deputy Commissioner didn’t accept memorandum on instruction of Commissioner. Patel said she had contacted Arjav Shah and asked him to accept the memorandum on Commissioner’s behalf, however Arjav Shah told here that Commissioner had refused him to accept the memorandum. Patel said this was breach of Mayor’s instruction and she would take this issue to party high command.
She said, it was a fact that 96 cattle were missing. Opposition members were demanding Vigilance probe. On the issue of cows, ruling party and opposition party are on one page. She said Deputy Commissioner Arjav Shah refused to obey her instruction and argued that Commissioner had given him order not to accept memorandum.
