May 04, 2020
Ahmedabad: All street vendors active in the city of Ahmedabad will need to go through a screening process by Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and get cards to continue their business. Such cards will be valid for a week (7 days) period. They will need to go through another screening after that for renewal of card for another 7 days. The responsibility of issuance of cards has been given to Estate department staffers. These details were shared by Commissioner, AMC today in his daily online briefing.
It’s worth noting that street vendors have been identified as super spreaders. More than 200 street vendors, mostly into sell of vegetables using moving carts have been found Covid19 positive in last few days. It is believed that they have infected lot of other people.
