Dy Municipal Commissioner pays Rs. 1,000 fine for not wearing mask properly in public event

Ahmedabad: Deputy Municipal Commissioner in Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Nitin Sangwan has paid Rs. 1,000 fine for no wearing mask properly when in public with others. Sangwan had flagged off bicycle run event along with others and a picture of this event was showing that Sangwan was not wearing a face mask properly. As the picture went viral, Sangwan paid Rs. 1,000 fine.
Sangwan thanked media friends who pointed it out the lapse. He said, ‘I think negligent behavior that I exhibited should never go unnoticed. Irrespective of position, rules applies equally to all.I once again apologize the negligent behavior which caused embarrassment to not only AMC, but in general to all citizens of Ahmedabad.’
He tweeted: Today morning I happened to pull down my mask while attending this event. It was indeed a terrible mistake to do so. But I am happy that AMC took immediate note of it and took quick action. Request all to follow social distancing and mask related guidelines, come what may.’
