Light Rain, Cloudy Sky in Amdavad, other parts of Gujarat, here’s what IMD has to say

Gandhinagar: Major parts of Gujarat including commercial capital Ahmedabad are cloudy today with light rainfall at places.
Director Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), Dr. Jayanta Sarkar said, western disturbances induced cyclonic circulation over South West Rajasthan and adjoining areas upto 0.9 km is responsible for light rains in parts of North Gujarat, South Gujarat and Saurhstra regions today.
He said, ‘as we already predicted about four-five days ago, there’s light rain forecast for today for Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Surendranagar districts of Saurashtra, all districts of South Gujarat and also in North Gujarat barring Banaskantha and Patan.’
He added that light rain is expected tomorrow in South Gujarat, while Saurashtra is not likely to get rain tomorrow and there’s least possibility of rainfall in North Gujarat too.
Sarkar said, this impact of western disturbances will be over after two days and there will be drastic fall in temperature.
‘You all will need to bring out your sweaters,’ he told media persons adding that there will be 3-4 degree or more fall in temperature.
When asked about Amdavad specifically, Sarkar replied, ‘ the city may have light rain today, fall in temperature tomorrow and further fall after 48 hours.’ DeshGujarat
