16 councilors of Owaisi led AIMIM win in two municipalities of Gujarat

Gandhinagar: 16 councilors of Asaduddin Owaisi led AIMIM party are elected in two municipalities of Gujarat.
AIMIM had fielded 8 candidates in 44-seat Godhra municipality. 7 out of them are declared victorious.
9 candidates of AIMIM have been also elected in 36-member Modasa municipality election. While BJP has emerged ruling party here by winning 19 seats, opposition Congress party has won only 8 seats. In this scenario, AIMIM has emerged main opposition party in Modasa town.
One candidate of AIMIM has also won in local polls in Bharuch.
AIMIM victories are limited to Muslim dominated areas. DeshGujarat
