Rainfall continuing in Ahmedabad; two gates of Vasna barrage opened by AMC

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has opened two gates of Vasna barrage for passing of surplus water and maintain the level of river at 130 ft, down from 133 level at present today morning. Opening of gates as pre-emptive measure will ease the water discharge situation in the city which is witnessing rains in the wake of Tauktae cyclone. According to AMC officials gate number 20 and 23 of Vasna barrage are opened for release of water. The city continued to receive rains through the morning of May 18 and even in the afternoon. As per official figures the AMC area received nearly 2 inches of rain by 3 pm. DeshGujarat
