Amit Shah launches Laddu distribution scheme for pregnant women in his Lok Sabha constituency

Sanand: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated ‘Laddu Distribution Scheme’ for pregnant women from Nidhrad village of Sanand in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
He said on this occasion that nutritious food is necessary for the good health of mothers during pregnancy and prenatal development of the baby. He added that 15 magaj laddu will be distributed each month to each of the pregnant women in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Constituency with the support of voluntary organizations and administration to combat malnutrition.
He added that folic acid supplement is provided to 7.5 crore pregnant women and 3.5 crore lactating mothers within the last 3 years in the country. Prenatal check-up of more than 3 crore women is conducted under Surakshit Matrutva Abhiyan started in 2016 by PM Modi, he said. The fruit baskets were distributed at the hands of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the Anganwadi workers to distribute them among the children on this occasion. DeshGujarat
