A building built in violation of Disturbed Area Act demolished in Surat

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) undertook demolition of an illegally built four-storey apartment by violating Disturbed Area Act in Nagarsheth Ni Pol of Nanavat area in Surat along with police bandobast yesterday.
The apartment named Royal Heights was illegally constructed despite it having been demolished four times previously. The residents of the apartment went inside their flats and closed the doors when the SMC team reached there for demolition. The owners Nayanaben Patel and others had done the construction without taking permission from SMC. SMC has sealed this apartment but the residents had removed the seal to reside in the flats. The demolition was started with the help of staff of the police department, urban development department of the central zone, staff of demolition department and SMC security staff. They demolished a 500 square feet RCC slab on the fourth floor, 3 shops at Ground floor and around 1500 square feet of construction. DeshGujarat
