Ukai dam produced nearly Rs. 100 crore electricity in 5 months

Surat: Hydro Electricity Plants at Ukai dam in Surat produced electricity worth Rs 97.25 crores within 5 months from June to October 2021.
The electricity production by the hydro-electricity plants in Ukai dam increased drastically in September. They produced 121.748 mega-unit electricity in September which is worth Rs 42.61 crores. The electricity production by these plants in June, July and August was 28.839 mega units, 18.489 mega units, and 12.591 mega units respectively. They have produced 97.871 mega unit electricity in October so far. The total electricity production during the five months from June to October is 279.591 mega units.
At present total 6 hydro power plants are operational at Ukai dam. The government had installed 4 hydro power plants initially and installed two more plants on the canal later. The electricity production capacity of the 4 plants is 75 mega units per day and the 2 plants installed in the canal are of the capacity of 2.5 mega units. DeshGujarat
