Rajkot: The district administration of Rajkot has proposed to allot 100 acres of government wasteland at Gadhka village in Rajkot taluka at a rate of Rs 512 per square metres to Amul for setting up a new plant in Rajkot.
The final price of the land will be decided by the District land price committee. The district administration was earlier prepared to allot 100 acres land at Kuvadva road to Amul for establishing a plant. However, Amul demanded land at a reasonable cost as its price was over Rs 300 crores.
The sources from Amul informed that the focus will be not on the milk-collection but on producing other products in the new plant near Rajkot. Amul is planning to establish plants of chocolates, sweets, cheese and so on there. DeshGujarat
