February 07, 2022
Gandhinagar: Political appointee Chairman of Gaun Seva Pasandagi Mandal, Asit Vora has submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Vora has stepped down months before completion of his term in unceremonious exit.
A poor administrator and even poorer communicator, Vora had received flak for repeated leaks of question papers of recruitment exams. His resignation has been taken by the government when yet another recruitment exam is scheduled. Looking at his questionable track record, the government wanted him to step down before upcoming exams for the posts of head-clerk and Bin Sachivalay. A city level BJP leader Asit Vora had been Mayor of Ahmedabad in the past.
The State government had taken resignations of several other board/corporation chairmen also recently who were politically appointed by previous government led by then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. It is learnt that resignations of two more political appointees IK Jadeja, Mulubhai Bera, Hansraj Gajera and Balwantsinh Rajput are also taken by State government in latest, from respective Board, Corporations they head.
