Same person being continued as Gujarat Congress spokesperson for 15 year, complains party’s TV panelist
February 14, 2022
Gandhinagar: The main opposition Congress party continues to face the issue of upset leaders who make their displeasure public. In the latest incident of infighting, Ahmedabad based Amit Nayak, a TV panelist who represents Congress party in various debates on Gujarati news channels went on social media to post his objection against continuation of same person on the post of party Spokesperson for over a decade and half.
Nayak in his Facebook post wrote, ‘no position is permanent but in Gujarat congress, only one person has been continued on the post of spokesperson for last fifteen – fifteen years. This is like political exploitation of new generation.’
Nayak apparently was targeting State Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi. Nayak’s social post is just another case of infighting in the series. Earlier this month, some Congress leaders in Vadodara had expressed displeasure with party leader Maulin Vaishnav on social media.
Then there was infighting among Congress councilors of Amdavad Municipal Corporation for the post of the leader of opposition. One Congress councilor even roped in black magic practitioner woman to eliminate two rival Congress leaders. She was suspended later.
Before that, State party spokesperson Jayrajsinh Parmar had expressed displeasure in a social media post, over importance given in Gujarat Congress only to elected representatives and not organizational leaders. Prior to that, a senior party leader Sagar Rayka had joined BJP.
