February 28, 2022
Rajkot: Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has through an advocate sent a legal notice to 4 congress leaders for defamation regarding their allegation of Rs 500 crore land scam by him.
Former CM Vijay Rupani has sent the legal notice through advocate Ansh Bhardwaj to Leader of Opposition in assembly Sukhram Rathva, Rathwa’s personal assistant, congress whip in the assembly CJ Chavda, and deputy leader of opposition in assembly Shailesh Parmar and congress office personal secretary. He has asked them to give a written apology within 15 days and withdraw all the allegations. He stated that the false allegations have caused major harm to his reputation. The notice asks them to send the written apology to all the media, or else a case of defamation will be filed in the court.
The congress leaders have made an allegation of a scam of over Rs 500 crore by the BJP leaders including former CM Vijay Rupani and BJP leader Nitin Bhardwaj. They alleged in a press conference on 22nd February that the scam was done by changing the zoning of 111 acres of land by RUDA (Rajkot Urban Development Authority) during Rupani’s tenure as CM. This land was purchased by Sahara India Home Corporation from residential to industrial, thereby helping the private form evade land premium payable to the government.
BJP leader Nitin Bhardwaj had also issued a memorandum to Rajkot Police Commissioner 4 days ago demanding to file a complaint of defamation against those who made allegations. DeshGujarat
