SUMUL sells record milk on Maha Shivratri

Surat: Sumul Dairy sold a record-breaking amount of 15 lakh litres of milk in one day in Surat on the festival of Maha Shivratri yesterday.
The usage of milk increases on the day of Maha Shivratri as the devotees perform the abhishek of milk in the Shivalayas on this day. Sumul dairy chairman Mansinh Patel and director Jayesh N Patel informed that the dairy sells 12 lakh litre milk per day on the regular days. The dairy sold 15,04100 litre milk in a day on Maha Shivratri which is 1 lakh litre more compared to previous year. Thus, the sales of milk was 3 lakh litre more on Maha Shivratri compared to regular days.
There was an increase in the selling of other milk products also on Maha Shivratri. The sales of other milk products on the festival was: buttermilk- 2,75 lakh litre, curd- 33 metric tons, Ghee- 11 metric tons, paneer- 3 metric tons, shrikhand- 2 metric tons.
