Gujarat Organic Agriculture University Amendment Bill passed in State assembly
March 04, 2022
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Organic Agricultural University will now be known as Gujarat Natural Farming & Organic Agricultural University. The headquarters of this university shall be at Halol in Panchmahal district of Central Gujarat instead of State capital Gandhinagar.
As the publicity of natural farming is important, the director of ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency) and SAMETI (State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute) will be placed in the management of this university. The tenure of common members has been increased from two years to three years.
Eligibility of the Vice Chancellor shall be minimum ten years experience in academy, research, administration and not older than 65 year age.
These changes were proposed in Gujarat Organic Agriculture University (Amendment) bill which was moved and passed in the State assembly today. DeshGujarat
