Water storage up at 40.24 percent in 207 water projects across Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The water storage has gone up at 40.24 percent across 207 water reservoirs in Gujarat as on July 11, thanks to the widespread rainfall across the state for last 4 days.

The water storage in Sardar Sarovar is at 1,51,586 MCFT at present, which is 45.37 percent of its total storage capacity. The water storage in 206 waterbodies of the state is 2,24,287 MCFT at present.

As informed by the flood cell of the water supply department of the state, the water storage is over 100 percent in 11 waterbodies, 70 to 100 percent in 18 waterbodies, 50 to 70 percent in 25 waterbodies, and less than 25 percent in 101 waterbodies.

Total 13 waterbodies, including 11 with over 100 percent water storage and 2 with 90 to 100 percent water storage are on high-alert. Eight waterbodies with 80 to 90 percent water storage are on Alert and seven waterbodies with 70 to 80 percent water storage are on general warning. DeshGujarat
