Water storage in 207 water projects of Gujarat cross halfway mark

Gandhinagar: The water storage in 207 water projects of the state as of 16th July 2022 has rose to 50.92 percent of full capacity.

Sardar Sarovar has 1,69,139 MCFT water storage, which is 50.63 percent of the total storage capacity.

As per the report of flood cell of Jal Sampati Vibhag of the state, the water storage is 3,02,397 MCFT in 206 waterbodies of the state, which is 54.18 percent of the total storage capacity. 27 waterbodies of state have over 100 percent water storage in . The 41 water bodies of the state have water storage between 70 t0 100 percent, 29 water bodies have 50 to 70 percent water storage, 48 water bodies have 25 to 50 percent water storage, and 62 water bodies have less than 25 percent water storage.

The 27 water bodies with over 100 percent water storage and 15 water bodies with water storage between 90 to 100 percent are on high alert. 13 water bodies with 80 to 90 percent water storage are on alert. The general warning is issued for 12 water bodies with 70 to 80 percent water storage.
