Forest department in Gujarat on alert after reports of Tiger movement in Gujarat
September 01, 2022
Mahisagar: Residents of Pandarwara village of Khanpur taluka of Mahisagar district have made claims about a tiger eating their livestock. Even though any proof did not substantiate this claim till Wednesday, it has kept forest officials on their toes.
According to villagers, the tiger is making the domesticated animals his food for about 15 days. After receiving the report from villagers, the Forest department has increased the area’s vigil, but it might also be a false alarm.
Deputy conservator of forest, N V Chaudhary told the press that forest personnel had visited the area for evidence of a tiger being found. however, no such evidence has come to light till now.
The cause of concern for the dept is one such past incident when in 2019 the same complaint of tiger killing the livestock came and then a tiger was found dead.
