Jamnagar: A maiden recruitment drive under the Agnipath scheme for Agniveer (SSR) and Agniveer (MR) batches is being conducted from 10 to 14 October 2022 at INS Valsura, Jamnagar. The recruitment drive is being undertaken for men as well as women candidates. The approval for enrolment of women as Agniveer in the Indian Navy has been accorded by the Government of India on June 2022.

Help desks were set up at Jamnagar Railway Station and Bus Stand along with banners for guiding the candidates to reach the Naval Recruitment Establishment, INS Valsura. On 10 October 2022, the first day of recruitment was conducted in three phases. The first phase of recruitment included document verification and validation, where the authenticity of a candidate was checked, the second phase included a written exam followed by the third phase PFT (Physical Fitness Test) for all the candidates.

During the recruitment, all the Covid guidelines were followed and a Medical team was on standby for attending to any medical emergency. An overwhelming response was received from the candidates to the maiden recruitment drive for Agniveer (SSR/MR).
