Over 50 lakh to get Ayushman PVC cards under PMJAY-MA in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: In the virtual presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, newly printed Ayushman PVC cards will be distributed to more than 50 lakh beneficiaries of Gujarat of PMJAY-MA cards at a state level program at Gandhinagar on 17th October, 2022.
Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana was integrated with Mukhyamantri Amrutam and Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya by the Government of Gujarat in 2019. As a result, all the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Amrutam and Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya were eligible to get the PMJAY-MA card.
Since then, PMJAY-MA cards have been issued to 1.58 crore beneficiaries in Gujarat till date. From September 2021 till date, more than 50 lakh cards have been issued under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Newly printed Ayushman PVC cards will be given to these beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually join the state level program organized in Gujarat to distribute PMJAY-MA cards and also interact with the beneficiaries. CM Bhupendra Patel and Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat Rushikesh Patel will attend this state level program. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will join the program virtually.
Ayushman PVC cards are being given to the beneficiaries of PMJAY-MA (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – Ma Amrutam) as per National Health Authority (NHA) guidelines. 50 lakh PVC cards have been printed in Gujarat. These cards have also been delivered to the respective Chief District Health Officers / Medical Officers of the Health Offices. Ayushman PVC cards will be distributed in all villages of the state.
As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi announced the Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) scheme in 2012 to provide quality and affordable medical treatment to the poor. Eventually, the scheme was expanded in 2014 to cover families with an annual income of ₹4 lakhs and the Mukhya Mantri Amrutam Vatsalya (MAV) scheme was announced.
Having observed the benefits MA and MAV have given to the poor families in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2018, launched the nationwide ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PM-JAY), the world’s largest health insurance scheme. Under this, health cover of up to ₹ 5,00,000 is provided per family. After the announcement of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) in 2019, Gujarat Government integrated MA and MAV Yojana with AB PMJAY, and beneficiaries of these three schemes were issued co-branded cards under PMJAY-MA.
A total of 260 programs will be held at the state level and taluka level on October 17
Gujarat Government has organized an event on October 17, 2022 to distribute these newly printed Ayushman PVC cards to PMJAY-MA card beneficiaries. This program will be organized at two levels, one at the state level and another at each taluka and municipal corporation level. Prime Minister to have a virtual interaction with 3 beneficiaries who have been treated and cured under the PMJAY-MA card. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will call three new beneficiaries on the stage and hand over Ayushman PVC cards to them. Taluka level programs will be attended by in-charge ministers, local MPs, MLAs and other dignitaries.
All the beneficiaries of Gujarat will be given 50 lakh colored Ayushman PVC cards at their doorsteps. This card will be distributed by NHA empaneled agencies after doing e-KYC of beneficiaries through BIS module.
