November 21, 2022
Gandhinagar: Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Gopsinh Lawar has withdrawn his nomination form in Devgadh Baria assembly seat constituency of Central Gujarat.
NCP had an alliance with the Congress party on three seats in Gujarat. Devgadh Baria was one of the seats under the alliance. The other two seats were Umreth and Naroda. As NCP candidate has withdrawn his candidature in the Devgadh Baria seat, the ruling BJP will now have a contest with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate mainly in this seat.
Earlier, the NCP candidate for Naroda seat in Ahmedabad, Nikulsinh Tomar had also dropped the idea of contesting. The Congress party fielded its own leader as the NCP candidate later. DeshGujarat
