Vadgam: Vankar community has presented a memorandum to the district collector’s office in Palanpur alleging the insult of a Schedule Caste official by Vadgam congress MLA Jignesh Mevani.

Vadgam congress MLA Jignesh Mevani had allegedly told the Banaskantha district’s  Resident Additional Collector that the Collector is supposed to seat only after he (as MLA) seats whenever he visits hee chamber.

Mevani had allegedly told the Additional Collector that she is supposed to receive him whenever he visits the Collector’s office. Mevani had told her that the collector is supposed to only stand, till he is standing and she can seat in his chair only after he seats. He had added that the collector is supposed to drop him at the gate of the collector’s office when he leaves.

Dhandhar Vankar community of Banaskantha district has agitated against Mevani for the same. They alleged that Mevani insulted an official who belongs to the Vankar community. They alleged in the memorandum that MLA Jignesh Mevani made an extremely condemnable statement to the resident additional collector.

Guru Brahmin community has also submitted a memorandum over this alleged misbehaving by Mevani. DeshGujarat
