No illegal activities to be allowed on entire 1600 km coast of Gujarat: CM in Bet Dwarka

Dwarka: Illegal constructions or any other illegal activity will be strongly dealt with as per the law of the land and such activities will not be allowed to proceed further at the entire 1600 km coast of Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said today while interacting with the media persons here.

Chief Minister said Gujarat has a 1600 km sea coast which is the longest in India. If someone has in his mind that illegal activities can be done using this coast, then he must know that the Government will not allow it to happen. The illegal activities will not be allowed to take place, and the Government will continue its drive against such activities through the entire 1600 km coast, Chief Minister further said.

When asked specifically about illegal constructions at Dwarka coast that are still there, the Chief Minister said that a meeting was held yesterday in this regard with the Police, district collector, and the officials of the forest department and they are asked to take action in the respected land under their purview.

The State government had last year carried out a massive bulldozing task against illegal constructions on government land in Bet Dwarka island and restored the government’s possession. Similar drives had also taken place in Jakhay, Naliya, Porbandar, and Gir Somnath coasts.
