Gandhinagar: The state’s education department announced the launch of the ‘Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Scheme’, a scholarship programme for students in Classes 9–12 belonging to financially weak families. About 25,000 students will receive this scholarship in the new academic year.
According to a statement, students in classes 9–10 will receive an annual scholarship of Rs 20,000, while students in classes 11–12 will receive Rs 25,000 per year. Eligibility for the scholarship is determined by the student’s annual household income, which should not exceed Rs 1.2 lakh for rural students and Rs 1.5 lakh for urban students. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must take a competitive exam, and the most meritorious students will be selected for the scholarship.
The Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Scheme’s first exam will take place on June 11. Registration for the free exam is open from May 11 to 26, and students who have cleared or appeared for their Class 8 exam are eligible to apply. DeshGujarat
