Dwarka: Avoid visiting Dwarka till June 16 – said Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi who reached here as minister in-charge for preparedness against Bopirjoy cyclone. Sanghavi said the administration had started working four-five days ago and over a thousand people were already relocated from the coastal villages. Further evacuation was on, he stated. Sanghavi also stressed on need to have communication network intact with multiple telephone lines so that the people in need can contact the administration. He said there are various tasks involved when it comes to preparing against the cyclone. Say for example, pregnant women from villages likely to be affected are identified and arrangements are done for their care.

It’s worth to mention here that last evening, the Chief Minister assigned 8 districts of Saurashtra – Kutch to 9 ministers for preparedness against cyclone and related disaster management works. Sanghavi was assigned Devbhoomi Dwarka district. Cyclone Biporjoy as per the current forecast by central government’s weather department IMD is likely to hit Kutch coast of Gujarat by June 15 near Jakhau fishing port. DeshGujarat
