June 12, 2023
Banaskantha: Banas Dairy has launched the ‘Truck on Train’ initiative, with the aim of expediting milk transportation to other states while reducing diesel wastage and pollution.
Shankar Chaudhary, the chairman of Banas Dairy, flagged off the inaugural train for this initiative from Karjoda railway station in Palanpur on Sunday.
This initiative is expected to enhance milk transportation by significantly reducing transit times and improving overall efficiency. By introducing the truck-on-train method, the journey that took 30 hours by road from Banaskantha to New Rewari will now be completed in a mere 15 hours.
A fleet of 25 tankers, each filled with 30 thousand liters of milk, will be transported via train. In a single journey, approximately 7,50,000 liters of milk will be transported from Palanpur to New Rewari.
During the flagging off of the inaugural train, Chaudhary stated, “This innovative facility is designed to alleviate the financial burden on dairy operations and provide significant benefits to cattle rearers throughout the district.” DeshGujarat
