Gujarat ATS nabs 3 more including Hyderabad woman in ISKP terror module case

Hyderabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has nabbed three individuals, two from Hyderabad and one from Gorakhpur, over their alleged connections with the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP).

The Gujarat ATS had earlier this month dismantled an ISKP terror module and apprehended the accused Ubed Nasir Mir, Hanan Hayat Shol, Mohammad Hajim Shah from Srinagar, and Sumerabanu Mohammad Hanif Malek from Surat.

Following the arrest of a Sumerabanu woman in Surat, another woman, Khadija has been detained in Hyderabad. Gujarat ATS has revealed that Khadija is highly radicalized and had regular communication with the captured ISKP terrorists. Further investigation of Khadija’s Call Detail Records (CDRs) has unveiled additional names. The ATS is also questioning Fazihullah, another individual from Hyderabad.

Moreover, the ATS has nabbed one Tariq from Gorakhpur, who also had connections with the Sumerabanu. This crackdown on suspects, spread across various regions of the country, including Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana, marks a significant breakthrough in dismantling the ISKP network. Earlier, the Gujarat ATS had arrested four terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir and Sumaira from Surat, who allegedly had plans of hijacking a boat from Porbandar and travelling to Afghanistan with intentions to carry out fidayeen attacks.

After the arrest of the five ISKP suspects, based on the information obtained from them, the ATS team operated in Hyderabad for an extended period. A raid was conducted at a coaching center in Ameerpet, resulting in the arrest of the suspects. The ATS has interrogated a total of four individuals from the coaching centre. Presently, Mohammad Javed (46) and Khadija (20) are under interrogation. DeshGujarat
