Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated inspections of food outlets and restaurants across the city. During one of these inspections on Friday, the AMC’s health department discovered that the Vastrapur branch of La Pinoz Pizza was preparing food in unhygienic conditions and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
It has been discovered that the outlet had prepared a substantial quantity of pizza bases in advance, which could have posed a health risk if served to customers.
It was also discovered during the AMC operation that these pre-cooked pizzas were kept beside the dustbin and the kitchen sink, showing a disregard for hygiene. Furthermore, the pizza dough maker was placed adjacent to the dustbins without any concern for cleanliness.
In another development, the health department issued notices to 235 eateries and collected a total fine of ₹1.85 lakh. During a random inspection of 525 establishments, it was found that seven shops selling chicken-based items were in violation of hygiene regulations. DeshGujarat
