Gujarat govt announces additional two hours Agri power supply in 14 districts

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today announced additional two hours power supply for several districts benefitting 12 lakh farmers.
Cotton, groundnut and paddy farmers are kept in focus while taking this decision.
Finance minister Kanubhai Desai said the decision has been taken in view of delayed rains in the month of August.
Desai said the power demand has gone up to never before 9,170 mw.
He said the other districts will also be served if need arises.
The district where additional two hours power supply will be provided are Kutch, Mahesana, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Dwarka, Banaskantha, Patan, Kheda, Rajkot, Juangadh Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Amreli and Jamnagar.
The decision shall be effective by 1st of September. DeshGujarat
