Likely scenario of rainfall in Gujarat for the next 5 days

Gandhinagar: The monsoon is active over the Gujarat region. Several districts have been witnessing rainfall since the beginning of the month. The India Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for the upcoming 5 days, from September 14th to September 18th. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at several places in Gujarat, with the exception of heavy rainfall on the 17th and 18th in a few districts of South Gujarat.

Here is the forecast for the next five days:

On September 14th, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in many districts of state except Patan, Morbi, Anand, Botad, and Porbandar.

On September 15th, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in the following districts: Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Dahod, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Daman and Diu, Dadar Nagar Haveli.

On September 16th, Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Daman and Diu, Dadar Nagar Haveli are the places that may get light to moderate rain.

On September 17th, all the districts in Gujarat are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall, except for Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Junagadh and Porbandar, where the dry spell will continue.

Additionally, Chota Udaipur, Narmada, Tapi, Dang, and Navsari are marked with a yellow warning for heavy rainfall. Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli are marked orange alert for a very heavy rainfall warning.

On September 18th, only 3 districts in Gujarat are likely to remain dry, which are Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar.

Heavy rainfall warnings marked with yellow color have been issued for the following districts: Bhavnagar, Anand, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Dahod, Bharuch, and Tapi. However, Surat, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, along with Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, have been marked with orange alerts for very heavy rainfall warnings.

86% of average monsoon rainfall complete in state

The zone-wise rainfall data states that as of 6 a.m. today, the state has received 86.30% of the normal average monsoon season rainfall for this year, accumulating a total of 756.51 mm of rainfall.

Breaking down the data by regions, Kutch has got highest rainfall with 136.69% of the total monsoon average. Following closely is Saurashtra, which has recorded 110.80% of the average monsoon rainfall. In contrast, the North Gujarat region has experienced the lowest percentage of rainfall, which is 71.08% of the average rainfall so far.

The South Gujarat and East Central regions have completed 81.16% and 72.22% of the average monsoon rainfall, respectively. DeshGujarat
