Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved a uniform dress code for all its personnel, from high-ranking officials to Class-4 employees. The Material Management and Purchase Committee (MMPC) of the AMC received approval for this proposal on Saturday.

Class 1 male personnel will wear a grey shirt and black pants, while Class 3 employees will wear a blue shirt paired with navy blue pants. Khaki or cream-colored uniforms have been decided for Class 4 employees.

Women will have the option of wearing either a saree or a top paired with leggings and dupattas. Class 1 female staff will be required to wear a blue saree or dress, while Class 3 women staffers will don sky blue sarees or dresses.

Funding for the tailoring expenses will be provided within their salaries, in accordance with government regulations. The material for the clothing will be supplied by the civic body, with the AMC covering the associated costs.
