Jamnagar – Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express finishes trial run at top speed of 120 km/h

Jamnagar: Saurashtra’s inaugural Vande Bharat Express train, and Gujarat’s third, is set to embark on its journey between Jamnagar and Ahmedabad after its flag-off ceremony scheduled for September 24th. In preparation for this, a trial run took place today, starting from Sabarmati railway station and concluding at Viramgam, with the return trip to Sabarmati via Viramgam. The primary focus of the trial was to assess the train’s ability to attain maximum speeds.

During the trial, the train achieved speeds ranging from 110 to 120 kilometers per hour. An inspection was carried out by operating the train at speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour along the railway track leading to Saurashtra and no glitches or issues were detected throughout the trial run. Every facet of the train, including its air conditioning, doors, executive chair car, CCTV system, and WiFi connectivity, were checked.

The Vande Bharat Express will commence its journey from Jamnagar, making its way to Ahmedabad railway station via route that includes Rajkot, Wankaner, Surendranagar, Viramgam, and Sabarmati. This train will complete the entire journey from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad in just 5 hours.

According to the tentative timetable, the Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to depart from Jamnagar at the early hour of 5:30 am. It will then arrive at Sabarmati around 10:10 am, and shortly thereafter, at Ahmedabad railway station at approximately 10:25 am. In the evening, the train will embark on its return journey from Ahmedabad railway station at 6:00 pm, reaching Jamnagar by 10:30 pm. The specific fare details for this Vande Bharat Express, operating between Jamnagar and Ahmedabad, will be unveiled by tomorrow evening.

Following the official green signal from the Prime Minister, expected at 12:30 PM, the train will take on its maiden journey from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad.
