Godhra: Gujarat’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended six individuals today from various locations here in the city, including a woman, on suspicion of their links with the banned terrorist organization Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP).
The detainees were brought to the Ahmedabad office by the Gujarat ATS. Based on information from the National Investigation Agency and Central Intelligence Bureau, individuals affiliated with the ISKP terrorist organization are believed to be active in Gujarat. In response to this intelligence, the Gujarati ATS conducted a search operation in Godhra.
During the operation, six individuals were detained and transported to Ahmedabad, with five of them being suspected individuals currently undergoing interrogation. DIG Deepen Bhadran stated that they received specific inputs, conducted surveillance, and are now in the process of interrogating individuals. The complete picture will become clear soon.
These arrests follow the earlier arrests of suspects in Porbandar and Surat.
This operation comes just two days after the NIA filed charges against the five individuals arrested earlier due to their alleged links with ISKP. Charged in the filed chargesheet are individuals including Ubaid Nasir Mir, Hanan Hayat Shawl, Mohammed Hazim Shah, Sumera Banu, and Zubair. Their purported intention was to travel illegally to Afghanistan through Iran from Porbandar, Gujarat, for training and to engage in terrorist activities.
