Gujarat Govt inks 10 MoUs for proposed investment of Rs. 770 cr in adventure tourism

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government inked ten memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with a proposed investment of Rs 770 crore for the advancement of adventure tourism in the state. This initiative includes the establishment of a four-star resort, an entertainment zone, and a cultural theme park.

One MoU, with an investment intention of Rs 145 crore, is dedicated to establishing a four-star resort, conference, and convention area in the tribal-dominated Narmada district. This project aims to generate employment opportunities for over 450 local tribals.

Another MoU, indicating an investment of Rs 400 crore in the state capital Gandhinagar, focuses on constructing a world-class entertainment zone and culture theme park, expected to provide employment to 1,100 individuals.

Two MoUs, with a combined investment intention of Rs 225 crore, were signed for cinematic tourism in the Gir Somnath and Kutch districts, with the potential to create jobs for 2,500 locals.

These MoUs were formalized during a conference at Ekta Nagar, emphasizing the development of Gujarat as an adventure tourism destination, as per the government release.

The signing ceremony took place at a pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit event held at Ekta Nagar. The MoUs were exchanged at the 15th annual meeting jointly organized by the Gujarat Tourism Corporation and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI). Mulabhai Bera, the state minister for tourism, forest, and environment, was present at the event.
