Karmavad lake in Vadgam to get Narmada water; Govt sanctions Rs. 500 crore scheme

Banaskantha: The Karmavad lake in Vadgam will now receive water from the Narmada River. A decision has been made to release Narmada water into Karmavad Lake and Mukteshwar Dam. A fund of Rs. 500 crore has been approved for this scheme.
Under this project, a 62-kilometre pipeline will be laid from Motidau village in Mehsana to Karmavad Lake. 125 villages will benefit from the release of water into the lake. The work for the project will commence after the tender process.
Earlier, around 25 thousand farmers had protested for the release of water in Karmavad Lake. For 25 years, farmers had been demanding the release of water into Karmavad Lake. The filling of Karmavad Lake in Vadgam will significantly benefit the farmers. DeshGujarat
