Crime Branch nabs Juhapura resident for making fake govt document

Ahmedabad: The local cybercrime branch on Tuesday apprehended Ejaz Khan Pathan, accused of defrauding numerous individuals by selling counterfeit documents, including fake Aadhaar cards, voter cards, birth and death certificates, and even electricity bills.
Eijaz Pathan, residing in Fatehwadi Canal, Juhapura was arrested, and 29 counterfeit documents, comprising two Aadhaar cards, 16 voter cards, and 11 certificates, were seized from his possession.
Authorities also confiscated laptops, mobile phones, computers, printers, and other equipment used in the forgery operation, totaling assets worth Rs 52,150. The accused is booked under the IPC and Section 66(c) of the Information Technology Act. He is also booked for forgery, producing counterfeit documents as authentic, abetment, and destruction of evidence.
Law enforcement has scrutinized approximately 100 documents created by Pathan. Police stated that they would investigate the reasons behind the creation of these fraudulent documents and identify the beneficiaries involved. DeshGujarat
