2 held with Rs 9.42 lakh e-cigarettes in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The local crime branch police apprehended two men in Kalupur on Tuesday for possessing illegal e-cigarettes worth Rs 9.42 lakh.
After receiving a tip-off about a man transporting e-cigarettes near Valanda ni Haveli on Gandhi Road in Ahmedabad, the police surveilled the area and observed a man carrying a bag of e-cigarettes. The accused, namely Azim Shaikh, 25, a resident of Kalupur, claimed to have purchased the e-cigarettes from a store on Gandhi Road.
In a subsequent raid at Arihant Kitchen, the police found a substantial stock of e-cigarettes. The police recovered 628 e-cigarettes worth Rs 9.42 lakh. The shop is owned by Manoj Maniar, a 34-year-old resident of Meghaninagar. Both the accused have been booked under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019. DeshGujarat
