Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Assembly today unanimously passed a resolution commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration of the new Ram temple in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel proposed the resolution, which received unanimous approval with support from all MLAs of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), as well as members of the opposition Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Expressing his party’s endorsement, Congress MLA Arjun Modhwadia mentioned that it was former PM Rajiv Gandhi who permitted the foundation stone-laying ceremony at the site back in 1989, where the temple now stands.
Umesh Makwana from AAP also backed the BJP’s resolution, suggesting the construction of a hospital and a college within the temple’s campus, where Ram Lalla’s idol was consecrated on January 22 in a ceremony led by Modi. DeshGujarat
