Ahmedabad: Thermax will invest Rs. 1,000 crore next year in Gujarat for making an expansion in the State. Thermax plans to invest capex of Rs. 45 crore to set up an ion exchange resin manufacturing plant in Jhagadia. These announcements were made by the company’s MD and CEO Ashish Bhandari here during media interaction on the sidelines of Thermax Roadshow -Rediscover.

Thermax has four manufacturing facilities at Savli, Jhagadia, Dahej, and Mundra in Gujarat for domestic and export requirements. Thermax also plans to invest an additional capex of Rs. 45 crore to set up an ion exchange resin manufacturing plant in Jhagadia. Thermax directly and indirectly provides employment to 2500 persons in Gujarat.

Thermax, a leading provider of energy and environment solutions, showcased its latest innovations and green offerings today at Thermax Roadshow – REDISCOVER. Various solutions and advanced technologies in the field of energy transition such as multi-fuel and biomass-based energy solutions for converting waste to energy, hybrid renewables, bio-CNG, electrical/hybrid heating & cooling solutions, green hydrogen, and energy-saving water solutions, complemented by digital and value-added services were showcased in this roadshow for industries including food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and textiles.

Customers are given flexibility to opt for these solutions through various models, including upfront capex investment, going via the opex route, or build-own-operate (BOO) arrangements. Under the BOO model, Thermax assumes responsibility for investment, operation, and maintenance, while customers pay based on utility consumption, akin to metered billing.

Thermax has established its inaugural wind-solar hybrid (WSH) open-access captive power project in Gujarat near Rajkot in 123 acres land with an installed capacity of 45.80 MW, comprising 24.3 MW of wind energy and 21.50 MW of solar energy.

The company CEO Bhandari shared some of successful projects executed by Thermax in Gujarat, including agro waste to steam project for a noodles factory in Sanand, cabin cooling of truck by re-purposing the exhaust heat, 1700 mt sludge utilization for energy to a cement plant at Dahej among others.
