Paldi Jalaram Mandir underpass shuts for traffic after its inauguration
March 05, 2024
Ahmedabad: The newly constructed Paldi Jalaram Mandir railway underpass, inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday, was closed for traffic movement. The underpass, built for Rs. 82 crores near Jalaram Mandir in the Paldi area of the city, is expected to remain shut for 15 days.
The underpass has four exits leading towards Paldi, and it is learned that Amdavad municipal corporation officials have decided to change the design to accommodate future traffic considerations.
Top officials of the municipal corporation told the media that the underpass construction near the Paldi Jalaram temple is complete. However, modifications will be made to the design to address traffic issues during exits towards Paldi. Two mobile towers were initially present on the road towards Paldi, with one already removed, and the second tower scheduled for removal in the next couple of days. Subsequently, a new design will be implemented.
Citizens express frustration as the underpass, despite being inaugurated, is not operational. Municipal corporation officials acknowledge the traffic concerns and estimate an additional 10 days for the construction of the circle near the underpass based on the new design. DeshGujarat
