Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra moving in Gujarat

Dahod: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Gujarat on Thursday. The yatra arrived in Jhalod town in Dahod around 4.45 pm after crossing over from Rajasthan. Gujarat Congress in-charge Mukul Wasnik, state unit president Shaktisinh Gohil, leader of the opposition Amit Chavda, and other party members welcomed Gandhi.

AAP’s state unit president, Isudan Gadhvi, and leader Gopal Italia were present at the yatra on the invitation of the state Congress. Both parties will be participating in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat as part of the I.N.D.I. Alliance.

On the second day in Gujarat, the Yatra resumed from Dahod town to Godhra in the Panchmahal district, where Gandhi addressed the public. Early this morning, Gandhi also paid his respects to the tribal leader Govind Guru at Kamboi Dham near Jhalod before continuing the Yatra. After Godhra, the Yatra will move to Halol town, spending the night at Jambughoda village in the district.

The 6,700-km ‘Manipur to Mumbai’ yatra will traverse seven districts in Gujarat, known for their sizable tribal population, according to Manish Doshi, the spokesperson for the state Congress. During the four days when the yatra is in Gujarat, the former Congress president will address six public meetings, hold 27 corner meetings, and meet supporters at over 70 locations, he added.

The route will cover Dahod, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Tapi, Surat, and Navsari districts before entering Maharashtra at Navagam on the evening of March 10.

Prior to the yatra’s arrival in Gujarat, the state Congress faced setbacks with the resignation of several MLAs, including party stalwart Arjun Modhwadia, who joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). DeshGujarat
