Mehsana: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today, nabbed a Jail Assistant posted at Mehsana District Jail in a bribery case involving the sum of Rs. 500 in a decoy trap.

According to the complaint filed by Police Inspector Miss ML Rajput of Anand ACB Police station, the department had received a tip-off that the staffers of Mehsana District Jail were demanding bribes ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000. Based on the tip-off, the decoy was contacted and agreed to cooperate in the trap setup. One of the friends of the decoy’s husband was incarcerated in Mehsana District Jail, whom she wanted to visit. For that, the accused Chintankumar Prithviraj Chaudhary posted as Jail Assistant (Class – 3) in Mehsana District Jail had a conversation with the decoy and demanded a bribe of Rs. 500 and was caught red-handed in the act.
